Bratislava’s M. R. Štefánik Airport has introduced seven new direct destinations, marking a significant expansion driven by Wizz Air’s growing presence at the airport. The latest additions include Oslo, Alicante, and Athens, all launched this week, with Oslo being celebrated by the airport through an inaugural event for departing passengers. The Oslo service operates three times weekly.
From today, Wizz Air is also opening four additional routes from Bratislava to Basel, Niš, Naples, and Palermo, bringing the total number of newly launched destinations to seven.
The expansion is supported by Wizz Air’s fleet growth in Bratislava. The airline has added a second aircraft to its local base, with two more Airbus A321neo aircraft scheduled to arrive in spring 2026, increasing the base to four aircraft and enabling further route development.
Airport CEO Dušan Novota highlighted that the cooperation with Wizz Air is broadening travel options for passengers while supporting tourism growth and the airport’s long-term development. Tourism officials also underlined the strategic importance of the new Oslo route in improving Slovakia’s accessibility for Nordic travellers.
Wizz Air confirmed its continued commitment to Slovakia, noting that it will operate 29 routes from Bratislava and 32 routes nationwide in 2026, including the domestic connection between Bratislava and Košice. Further new routes to Kutaisi and Yerevan are planned from January, with additional launches expected in March.
