Several major European airlines—including Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, and others—have voluntarily rerouted flights to avoid Pakistani airspace due to escalating tensions with India.
Though not officially banned, these changes are precautionary and have extended Europe-India flight times by about an hour. The move is expected to cost Pakistan millions in lost overflight fees, adding to economic strain already worsened by mutual airspace restrictions with India after a deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Experts warn that longer routes and higher fuel usage may soon raise ticket prices for passengers.
