Volotea secures public service contract for Strasbourg–Copenhagen route

Share

Volotea has been awarded a public service obligation (PSO) contract to operate a new exclusive route between Strasbourg Airport and Copenhagen Airport, further strengthening its position in eastern France.

The two-year agreement, granted by French authorities, will see flights launch on 9 April 2026, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. More than 33,000 seats will be offered on the route.

The new service is designed to support regional economic and social development while improving connectivity between Strasbourg and Copenhagen. It also reflects growing demand for travel to Nordic destinations.

With the addition, Volotea consolidates its position as the leading airline at Strasbourg Airport by number of destinations, now serving 28 routes across eight countries.

The Copenhagen route follows another PSO win earlier this year for a connection to Munich, also due to launch in April.

Bottom line: Volotea continues to expand its regional connectivity strategy through public service contracts, reinforcing Strasbourg as a key base while tapping into rising demand for Northern European destinations.
