Volotea is set to strengthen its presence at Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci Airport by launching four new international routes in 2026 and basing a second aircraft in the Tuscan capital.
Starting September 21–23, 2026, Volotea will connect Florence to Seville, Valencia, Strasbourg, and Berlin, further enhancing the city’s European connectivity.
New routes from Florence:
The addition of the second aircraft will also create new job opportunities for airport staff and operational teams.
With these new connections, Florence will offer flights to 16 destinations across Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and the Czech Republic. In 2025, Volotea operated around 2,000 flights from Florence, carrying over 275,000 passengers with an average 94% load factor and 85% punctuality.
Meanwhile, attention is also turning to the airport’s long-awaited expansion project, with Toscana Aeroporti awaiting final environmental approval (VIA decree) to move forward. President Marco Carrai confirmed that the company is ready to comply with any conditions required by the environmental commission, emphasising commitment to responsible development.
