Volotea has launched its summer 2026 season in Asturias with a significant expansion, adding four new international routes, increasing capacity, and deploying a third aircraft at its local base.
New direct services now link Asturias Airport with Brussels, Rome Fiumicino, Porto and Paris Orly, offering more than 150,000 seats and strengthening the region’s international connectivity. These additions build on the airline’s existing network of 24 routes from Asturias.
The carrier has also reinstated flights to Menorca, operating up to four weekly services during the peak summer season, with more than 36,000 seats available.
To support the expansion, Volotea has introduced a third Airbus A320 at its Asturias base, completing a fleet transition from smaller A319 aircraft to higher-capacity A320s. The move increases seat capacity and is designed to accommodate rising demand from both local travellers and inbound tourism.
Overall, the airline will offer more than 1.2 million seats from Asturias in 2026, a 47% increase year-on-year and more than triple pre-pandemic levels. The expansion reinforces Asturias as a strategic hub within Volotea’s network and underlines strong growth in regional air travel demand.
