Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier Volaris transported 3.3 million passengers in July 2026, reporting strong demand during the peak summer travel season as its load factor climbed to 87.9%.
The airline increased capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), by 14.4% year-on-year, while traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles (RPMs), grew by 18.5%, outpacing capacity growth and driving a 3.0 percentage-point improvement in load factor.
International markets continued to outperform the domestic network, with international RPMs increasing 22.4%, compared with 16.0% growth on domestic Mexican routes.
Volaris President and Chief Executive Officer Enrique Beltranena said the July results confirmed the airline’s decision to add capacity during the busy summer period.
“July’s strong performance validates our decision to grow capacity to capture peak summer demand, delivering the economics we anticipated for the month,” he said. “Load factors were robust across both international and domestic markets as we continue to deploy capacity in a disciplined manner.“
Looking ahead, Volaris plans to moderate capacity growth after the summer peak by reducing the pace of expansion during the autumn season to better match demand trends while maintaining its focus on operational efficiency and profitability.
