Uzbekistan Airways has finalised an order for eight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, converting existing options into firm orders and bringing its total 787 fleet commitment to 22 aircraft.
The agreement was signed during the C5+1 Summit in Washington, D.C., in the presence of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov. The deal underscores Uzbekistan Airways’ ambitions to expand its long-haul network and modernise its fleet with more fuel-efficient widebody aircraft.
“These ultra-efficient aeroplanes will enable Uzbekistan Airways to further enhance its international connectivity as part of its growth strategy,” said Boeing in a statement.
The 787-9 Dreamliner is known for its extended range, lower fuel consumption, and improved passenger comfort—features that will support the airline’s expansion into new intercontinental markets.
