Today’s United Airlines flight UA998 from Brussels to New York Newark -already three hours late on departure- has turned back to Brussels. One hour into the flight the Boeing 777 (N78008) made a 180-turn and headed back, the pilots dumped fuel above the North Sea (North of Dunkirk) before landing back on runway 25L.
The reason for the return is unknown, most likely a technical issue. More follows.
