On 26 May, a United Airlines Boeing 737-800 (N37281) operating flight UA132 from Honolulu to Marshall Islands International Airport (Majuro) experienced left engine failure and a fire less than a minute after departure from runway 08R.
The pilots entered into a holding pattern and safely returend to land about 50 minutes about the initial take-off. The aircraft carried 141 passengers and 8 crew members.
UA132 is a weekly “island hopping” flight. Unfortunately, the airline was forced to cancel all subsequent flights: Honolulu – Majuro – Pohnpei – Chuuk – Guam
