Today’s United Airlines flight UA973 from Brussels to Chicago was forced to return to Brussels Airport after a technical issue.

The Boeing 777-200ER registered N791UA took off at 08:41 (UTC+0). One hour and 30 minutes into the flight (above Northern Ireland), the pilots turned for three holdings and then headed back to their departure airport for a safe landing about 3 hours after the initial take-off. The flight was cancelled. The reason for the technical issue is unknown.
