On 6 January, a Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800 (TC-JVI) operated flight TK442 from Lviv, Ukraine to Istanbul, Turkey. While back-tracking for departure from runway 31 at Lviv Airport, however, the aircraft suffered a runway excursion. Eurocontrol reported an airport closure until 14:00 (UTC), no injuries have been reported among the 59 passengers and 6 crew members, who safely disembarked the aircraft via mobile stairs and were taken to the terminal building.
