TUIfly Netherlands sets record with 18 weekly Amsterdam–Curaçao flights over Christmas

TUIfly Netherlands will operate a record 18 weekly flights between Amsterdam and Curaçao during the upcoming Christmas holiday period — the highest-ever frequency between the Netherlands and the Caribbean island.

“Demand for this little piece of the Netherlands in the Caribbean is incredibly high,” said Arjan Kers, Managing Director of TUI Netherlands. “During the holidays, we’ll be flying almost three times a day between Amsterdam and Curaçao.”

The tour operator had already planned to increase service for the winter season from 14 to 17 weekly flights between December 17 and March 24, but an extra rotation will be added for the busy Christmas weeks.

According to Kers, Curaçao remains one of the most popular warm-weather destinations for Dutch travellers during the festive season. “Many people love spending the holidays in the Antilles. Curaçao has positioned itself very well as a destination — and we’re seeing particularly strong interest from the Dutch market.”

The additional flights also respond to a request from the Curaçao government to boost capacity and help stabilise ticket prices. TUI will deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner (OO-JDL), previously used on its Brussels–Curaçao route, to operate the extra services.

“With some creative scheduling, we managed to further expand the number of flights,” Kers added.

The record schedule reinforces Curaçao’s status as a top Caribbean destination for Dutch travellers, combining close cultural connections, year-round sunshine, and a vibrant holiday atmosphere.
