Forum member Lux_avi pointed out some noteworthy news yesterday: TUI fly Belgium will end all operations at Liège Airport starting in early 2026. The final scheduled flight is set for January 4th.
According to TUI, flights from Liège no longer meet profitability expectations, and there’s limited potential to improve the situation in the short or medium term. As a result, the group has decided to relocate its aircraft to airports where they can be deployed more efficiently from both a commercial and operational perspective.
This marks the end of a long-standing cooperation that began in 1994 — 31 years ago. Christian Delcourt, spokesperson for Liège Airport, called it a “historic turning point,” although he also noted that TUI’s activities made up only a small portion of the airport’s traffic. Liège remains, first and foremost, a cargo-focused airport.
