Ostend-Bruges Airport and TUI fly Belgium have launched the airport’s first-ever winter service to Hurghada, marking a key milestone in making the Egyptian Red Sea resort accessible year-round from the Belgian coast.
Until now, Hurghada flights operated only between April and October, but starting this winter, TUI fly will fly every Monday from November through March, complementing the existing Saturday summer service.
The move represents a 22% increase in winter capacity, with more flights also added to Alicante and Málaga, strengthening the partnership between Ostend-Bruges Airport and TUI.
“With Hurghada’s year-round sunshine and pleasant temperatures above 20°C, it’s the perfect winter getaway,” said Nathan De Valck, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport. “We’re proud to add Egypt to our growing list of year-round destinations, alongside Spain’s most popular holiday spots.”
Gunther Hofman, Managing Director of TUI fly Belgium & the Netherlands, highlighted the strong demand: “Egypt remains one of TUI’s fastest-growing destinations thanks to its excellent hotels and value for money. We’re pleased to now offer West and East Flanders travelers direct winter flights from Ostend.”
The expansion reflects a wider trend of travellers choosing regional airports for their convenience and comfort, with shorter queues, quick check-ins, and departures close to home making the holiday experience smoother from the start.
