TUI Belgium reports slightly higher bookings for the 2025 Christmas holidays, driven by Belgians’ continued desire to escape winter darkness while also seeking new and varied travel experiences.
A total of 189 TUI fly flights will operate to 35 destinations, with Spain accounting for around half of all air travel bookings, led by the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, and the Canary Islands. Egypt remains a strong alternative thanks to competitively priced all-inclusive resorts. At the same time, interest in emerging sun destinations is rising, particularly in West Africa, with Cape Verde, Senegal and Gambia gaining popularity due to their climate, cultural appeal, favourable prices and shorter flight times.
Demand for pre-booked excursions is increasing, reflecting travellers’ preference for stress-free holidays, while ski travel is also strong. France dominates ski bookings, although higher-altitude resorts and new destinations in the Far North, such as Finnish Lapland and the Scandinavian Mountains, are seeing growing interest, with all flights to the region fully booked.
City breaks remain popular, led by Paris and London, while short stays closer to home are also in demand, particularly along the Belgian coast. On average, Belgians spend €1,922 on a Christmas flight-based holiday, €856 on ski trips, €441 on city breaks and €202 on holidays close to home.
