TUI Group’s Belgian division reports growing interest in Western and Southern European holiday destinations, as geopolitical tensions encourage travellers to choose locations closer to home.
Traditionally, TUI Belgium’s short- and medium-haul offer is split between Western European destinations and non-European markets, where Turkey and Egypt have been particularly popular thanks to modern hotels and competitive prices.
However, recent developments have driven increased demand for destinations such as Spain, Portugal, and Cape Verde. TUI says this trend is visible both in travel agency bookings and online searches.
The surge in interest could lead to limited hotel availability in Southwestern Europe, with accommodation expected to fill up faster than usual this year. TUI advises travellers—especially those seeking lower prices or specific hotels—to book early to secure availability.
