136 passengers flying from Malaga to Antwerp with TUI fly Belgium were stranded at the airport for nearly 24 hours after their Saturday evening flight TB1002 (Embraer E195-E2 registered OO-ETC), due to depart at 18:10, was repeatedly delayed due to a technical problem.
Despite the engineers resolving the issue, the departure board displayed multiple revised times, each of which was scrapped shortly before boarding. Eventually, the flight departed from Malaga on Sunday at 16:25 and arrived at Antwerp Airport at 18:42, over 21 hours late.
Some travellers reported little communication from TUI and said they were left to spend the night in the terminal. TUI’s spokesperson, Sarah Saucin, stated that passengers were kept informed via text messages.
