A passenger with aggressive and turbulent behaviour forced the emergency landing of a TUI Fly Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on Sunday at Quebec City Airport.
The wide-body aircraft registered G-TUIH coming from Manchester, England under flight number BY182 made an unexpected stop on its journey to Cancun, Mexico. For the restless passenger, the holidays to the southern sun took an unexpected turn.
According to a spokesman for Jean-Lesage Airport, the woman was considered a potential threat to other passengers and the crew of the aircraft and she was taken care of by police officers at the airport.
She did not resist her arrest and is scheduled to appear Monday at the Quebec City courthouse. The charges that will be laid against her remain to be clarified at the end of the investigation.
The plane, which can carry up to 330 passengers, resumed its flight in the early afternoon.
