This year’s awards are the results of surveys during August 2017 to May 2018 conducted amongst 20.36 million survey participants from 335 airlines. The Skytrax survey evaluates product standards and various airline services on all aspects of service-related excellence, beginning when passengers enter the airport through to inflight service, which includes check-in service, seat comfort and the passenger cabin, inflight meals and beverages, cabin crew service and inflight entertainment system. Furthermore, the Skytrax World Airline Awards is a global benchmark of airline excellence, and is described as “the Oscars of the aviation industry.”
