Air France-KLM has announced it will submit an expression of interest in acquiring a stake in TAP Air Portugal, following the Portuguese government’s publication of privatisation terms. Interested parties have until November 22 to declare their interest in buying up to 49.9% of the airline.
The privatisation process is being advised by Bank of America Europe and Caixa – Banco de Investimento, with legal counsel from Uría Menéndez Abogados.
Lufthansa and IAG (owner of Iberia and British Airways) are also considering bids. Selection of candidates will be based on 11 criteria, including price, strategic plans, and respect for existing labour commitments.
