TAP Air Portugal celebrates first transatlantic flight using A321neo LR… while they are not the first

Share

On 1 June 2019, TAP Air Portugal launched a new route from Porto to New York EWR.

This flight was celebrated on Saturday as world’s first transatlantic flight using the brand new Airbus A321neo LR.

But a few avgeeks noticed that they were not the first.

Air Transat, flying with its Airbus A321neo LR, C-GOIE already flew over the Atlantic Ocean, more than 2 weeks ago on 15 May 2019, from Montréal Trudeau to Nantes Atlantique!

Air Transat was then first, info which Flightradar24 had to correct on Twitter as well.

La Compagnie, using A321neo LR F-HBUZ already flown its first transatlantic flight on 31 May 2019.
