On 1 June 2019, TAP Air Portugal launched a new route from Porto to New York EWR.
This flight was celebrated on Saturday as world’s first transatlantic flight using the brand new Airbus A321neo LR.
But a few avgeeks noticed that they were not the first.
Air Transat, flying with its Airbus A321neo LR, C-GOIE already flew over the Atlantic Ocean, more than 2 weeks ago on 15 May 2019, from Montréal Trudeau to Nantes Atlantique!
Air Transat was then first, info which Flightradar24 had to correct on Twitter as well.
La Compagnie, using A321neo LR F-HBUZ already flown its first transatlantic flight on 31 May 2019.

It doesn’t say “World’s First A321neo transatlantic flight”. It reads TAP first A321neo transatlantic flight.
“Today, we’re celebrating another unique and historic moment in the aviation world: our A321LR took off from Porto, on its way to New York, on the first transatlantic flight ever made by this model. Here we go!”
If you look closely, this is not the same as “world’s first transatlantic flight using the brand new Airbus A321neo LR”.
La Compagnie also flew from Paris ORY to New York EWR with an A321neo LR before the TAP flight.
