Prague becomes STARLUX Airlines’ first European destination with new Taipei route

Share

STARLUX Airlines has confirmed Prague as its first European destination, launching a new nonstop long-haul service between Prague and Taipei from 1 August this year. The route will initially operate three times per week, increasing to four weekly flights from October.

The Taiwanese carrier will deploy an Airbus A350-900 configured with four cabin classes—First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy—offering a total of 306 seats. Flights from Prague will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with an additional Monday service added from October.

Ji?í Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, welcomed the announcement, noting that the route could carry more than 95,000 passengers in both directions during its first year. He highlighted the service’s potential to strengthen tourism and business ties between the Czech Republic and Taiwan.

STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai said the Prague launch marks a major milestone for the airline’s global expansion. He pointed to strong leisure demand from Taiwan, as well as growing links in the semiconductor industry, as key drivers of the new service. Via Taipei, passengers will also gain access to STARLUX’s wider Asian network, including destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Singapore, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Founded in 2020, STARLUX Airlines is one of Asia’s youngest carriers and positions itself as a premium airline with an all next-generation Airbus fleet. The A350 cabin interiors were designed by BMW Designworks, while onboard catering is inspired by Michelin-starred restaurants. Premium Economy will be offered on the Prague route, alongside Business Class suites with private doors and a four-seat First Class cabin.

Ticket sales will open shortly via the airline’s official website and selected travel agencies.

Flight schedule (local times)

  • JX102 Prague – Taipei: 10:20 – 05:10 (+1)
  • JX101 Taipei – Prague: 00:10 – 07:50
