Spirit Airlines flight NK1300 from Fort Lauderdale to Boston (Airbus A321 reg. N687NK) was repeatedly warned by air traffic control to turn away from Air Force One’s path over New York on Tuesday.
Audio recordings captured controllers urgently instructing the plane to alter course, with one admonishing the crew to “pay attention” and “get off the iPad.” Despite the tense exchanges, a source confirmed that the required separation between the planes was maintained.
Spirit Airlines said the flight followed procedures and landed safely in Boston, emphasising that safety remains its top priority. The White House did not comment.
