Lithuanian leisure carrier Small Planet Airlines has ceased operations, the airline mentioned on its website. Back in October, the airline filed for a restructuring process under the Lithuanian law while the Polish and German companies filed for a restructuring earlier this Autumn, after failing to manage rapid growth and increasing cost burden.
In November, several companies were interested in taking over the German part of Small Planet Airlines: Onur Air, Zeitfracht Logistics and also VLM Brussels but a possible takeover never took place.
Passengers that booked a ticket with Small Planet Airlines are requested to contact their tour operator for a rebooking.
“We say big ‘Thank you’ for all passengers who were with us for more than 10 years,” the defunct airline concluded.
