Swiss airline SkyWork Airlines has ceased operations with immediate effect, the airline announced on its web site. The airline that rebranded into SkyWork Airlines back in 2010 offered 22 destinations in Summer 2018. Negotiations with a potential investor failed hence the only option for the airline was to file for bankruptcy.

On 16 October 2017, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) already decided to suspend the airline’s AOC. After a difficult Winter 2017/2018, the airline had good hopes to revive with the launch of three new destinations in Summer 2018: Graz (from Berlin), Bra? and Grosseto. As the last Dornier had left the fleet at the start of Summer 2018, the fleet consisted of six Saab 2000s (according to data from flightradar24).

In the press release, the airline wants to thank its passengers for their loyalty during the past seven years.

FOCA has compiled the most important information for affected passengers on its website.
