The Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation FOCA limited the operating licence of Skywork Airlines AG until end of October 2017, due to economic reasons. At present, the air carrier cannot ensure adequate funding of the winter flight schedule 2017/18. Flight operations can continue thereafter, if, in the meantime, a new financial basis can be ensured.

Air operators must provide evidence to FOCA that the company’s financial situation is economically viable to guarantee safe flight operations. The Federal Office of Civil Aviation FOCA therefore periodically monitors the economic viability of licensed air carriers. In case the economic viability is no longer ensured, FOCA is obliged to limit or revoke the operating license.

For some time now, FOCA has intensified its monitoring activities concerning the economic viability of Skywork Airlines and the air carrier kept FOCA fully and transparently informed about the economic situation. Despite intensive efforts, Skywork was at present not in the position to submit to FOCA proof of adequate financial resources for the winter flight schedule 2017/18. FOCA, therefore, has limited the operating licence until the end of October. In case Skywork Airlines AG can proof adequate financial resources, flight operations could continue.
