Fly to Graz with Skywork

SkyWork to Graz

Along with the start of the summer flight plan on 25th March 2018, the airline Skywork will be adding the Graz-Berlin connection to their own flight schedule. The Saab 2000, with a capacity of approx. 50 seats, will be flying towards Austria six times a week. Flight days will be Monday till Friday and Sunday. This connection is not only interesting for tourists but especially for business travellers.

Graz, Pearl of Styria
In 2003, Graz became the cultural capital of Europe. Since 2011, the city has been nicknamed the City of Design and is also affectionately referred to as the culture and pleasure capital of Austria by the natives. Austria’s second largest city is, of course, worthy of all these titles. If you wish to experience the city in all its facets, then you should not only try to take in its architectural beauty, the rich variety of art and culture but also embark on a culinary expedition. From the simple to the extravagant, from inexpensive to luxury – you’ll find it here and go home full and happy.

The old town, that has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1999, enchants with its narrow alleys, impressive historical buildings (including the Graz Cathedral, town hall and the mausoleum), but also modern architectural gems, a variety of exceptional museums, and in the summer, an almost maritime flair. In the centre of the city, on the banks of the Mur, you will find the Grazer Schlossberg, a popular destination with a height of 123 metres. In addition to a breath-taking 360° view of the city, and with clear weather even beyond, here you can also visit the clock tower (the trademark of Graz), bell tower (also known as Liesl), the Schlossberg-Kasematten, the 98 metre deep Türkenbrunnen (Turkish well) and the rest of the castle.

Art, nature, architecture and design are all tightly interwoven in Graz. When visiting the city, a trip to the Kunsthaus Graz, home of contemporary art, is simply a must. The roof of the Kunsthaus rises above the roofs of the old town, giving the building its name, the blue bubble of Graz. The Murinsel (Island in the Mur), an impressive floating steel platform is worth more than a quick visit. As the water of the Mur flows to the left and right sides of the island, you should take a short, or long, coffee break. More than 70 contemporary sculptures, from big, to very big and almost imposing, invite visitors to discover and marvel at the seven hectors of unadulterated art.

Off to Styria
Nature lovers won’t just find their money’s worth in the city’s parks, the castle or the botanical garden. Styria is one of the most popular destinations in Austria and is perfect for hiking, but also quiet and relaxation. Around a 20 minute drive from Graz Kesselfallklamm invites you to take a hike. A little further still and you will find Schöckl Mountain, which at 1,445 metres, is a popular destination in itself, offering steep slopes, a mountain station and a nature trail. For those who prefer to explore the world below ground instead high above it, the Lurgrotte is the largest water-active stalactite cave in Austria; a fascinating destination.
