SKY express continues to accelerate the expansion of its international network with the launch of two new direct routes, Athens-Hamburg and Heraklion-Tirana, further strengthening Greece’s connectivity with key European markets.

In December 2025, the Greek carrier inaugurated direct flights between Athens and Hamburg, its fifth destination in Germany after Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin. The route operates three times weekly—on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays—and reinforces SKY express’ presence in a strategically important market for Greek tourism and business ties.

At the same time, SKY express has expanded its Balkan footprint with the introduction of a new direct year-round service between Heraklion and Tirana. Operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the route builds on the airline’s existing Athens–Tirana connection and enhances travel options for both the local Cretan community and the Albanian market, supporting closer cultural, economic and tourism links between the two countries.

Both routes are operated with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft: Airbus A320neo and A321neo jets on the Athens–Hamburg service, and ATR 72-600 turboprops on the Heraklion–Tirana route.

With these additions, SKY express now serves 27 international destinations and will complete the integration of six new international routes by the end of 2025, including Hamburg, Berlin, Lyon, Tel Aviv, Madrid and Lisbon, underlining its strategy to position Greece more strongly on the European aviation map while supporting sustainable growth in tourism and connectivity.
