Greek carrier Sky Express has continued its European expansion with the launch of two new direct routes from Athens to Berlin and Madrid, strengthening its presence in key continental markets.
The Athens–Berlin route began last week with four weekly flights (Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday), operated by Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. It follows existing services to Munich, Frankfurt, and Düsseldorf, with Hamburg set to join soon, underscoring the airline’s growing focus on Germany.
Meanwhile, the new Athens–Madrid service marks SKY Express’s debut at Spain’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, operated with Airbus A320neo aircraft seating 186 passengers. The route offers five weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday).
An inaugural ceremony at Madrid-Barajas featured a ribbon-cutting event and a festive welcome for passengers, highlighting the airline’s entry into the Spanish market.
With these additions, SKY Express now serves 27 international destinations, reflecting its strategy to strengthen connectivity between Greece and major European capitals. By the end of 2025, new routes from Athens to Lisbon, Madrid, Hamburg, Lyon, and Tel Aviv will further enhance the airline’s expanding network.
