Scoot now flies to Berlin and will link the capital with Singapore in Asia. The direct flight will operate four times a week. Scoot is a low-cost daughter company of Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group and was voted the best low-cost airline in the Asia-Pacific region for the fourth year in a row. Berlin is Scoot’s third long-haul connection after Athens (Greece) and Honolulu (USA).

Mr Vinod Kannan, Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer
As the most exciting city in the world for millennials, the addition of Berlin resonates with the Scoot brand and opens up yet another part of the continent for us since we launched Athens exactly a year ago. For travellers from both the Asia Pacific and Europe, Scoot offers a low-cost option to travel across our global network and pay only for the products and services that they need, without compromising on comfort and safety.”

Mr Michael Müller, Serving Mayor of Berlin
Scoot recognised the business potential of the capital region ahead of many other airlines and it boldly and foresightedly established a Berlin-Singapore link. Nowhere near all economic regions are able to produce such dynamic economic development as Berlin. As a lucrative long-haul destination, the capital region will no longer remain an insider tip.”

Singapore’s Ambassador to Germany Mr Laurence Bay
Scoot’s arrival in Berlin marks a new milestone in our bilateral relationship and enhances connectivity. I am confident it will better position our two countries as strategic gateways to the rest of Asia and Europe.”

Mr Rainer Bretschneider, Supervisory Board Chairman of Berlin-Brandenburg Airport
Even in Brandenburg, there are many companies that are interested in good international connections to develop their business. I am therefore delighted by the new link.”

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, Management Board Chairman of Berlin-Brandenburg Airport
The new link is a major advance for the connectivity of the capital region. Changi Airport in Singapore is the principal Asian hub. Destinations in Asia and Australia are now easier to reach from Berlin.

Mr Burkhard Kieker, CEO of visitBerlin
Scoot connects Berlin with an important hub in Asia. Particularly for the Australians who love Berlin, we are now only one stop away. The commitment demonstrates that foresighted airlines are already positioning themselves for BER and other long-haul routes.”
