Tajikistan’s Shohin Airlines has disclosed its first-ever Airbus order, confirming the purchase of four A320neo Family aircraft comprising two A320neos and two A321neos. The order, previously listed as unidentified in Airbus’ June order book, was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow.
Founded in 2025 and based in Dushanbe, Shohin Airlines plans to use the aircraft to launch regional and international services while establishing itself as Tajikistan’s new private flag carrier.
The A320neo aircraft will be configured with 176 seats, while the larger A321neo will accommodate 196 passengers, both in a dual-class layout. The airline said the new fleet will provide the foundation for a modern, fuel-efficient and environmentally sustainable operation, while supporting the expansion of Tajikistan’s international air connectivity.
Airbus welcomed Shohin Airlines as a new customer, describing the agreement as the start of a long-term partnership. The manufacturer noted that the A320neo Family delivers at least 20% lower fuel consumption and CO? emissions than previous-generation single-aisle aircraft while offering one of the widest cabins in its class.
