SAS introduces live bag location sharing with Google Find Hub to speed up lost luggage recovery

Share

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has partnered with Google to improve baggage recovery by allowing passengers to securely share the live location of their luggage with airline staff using the Find Hub tracking ecosystem.

Through the new Share Item Location feature in the Find Hub app, travellers can generate a secure, time-limited link that provides SAS teams with the real-time location of compatible tracking tags attached to their bags. The link can be shared via the airline’s self-service baggage reporting tool, enabling staff to locate misplaced luggage more quickly while allowing passengers to follow the recovery process without needing to call for updates.

According to Massimo Pascotto, Vice President of Digital Customer Solutions at SAS, the integration is intended to give customers greater transparency while helping airline teams resolve baggage issues faster.

The airline said all shared data is encrypted and can be stopped at any time, and that several other global airlines are also beginning to accept Find Hub location sharing as part of their baggage recovery processes.
