A regional Scandinavian Airlines flight from Berlin to Stockholm was forced to make an emergency diversion to Copenhagen on Sunday after a crack appeared in a cockpit side window.
According to passengers, the aircraft slowed significantly during the flight before the pilot announced that a cockpit window had cracked and that the aircraft would land in Copenhagen as a precaution. One passenger said the situation caused some anxiety on board, although the crew handled the incident calmly.
Flight SK2678, operated by CityJet CRJ-900ER registered EI-JAD for SAS, had departed Berlin shortly before noon and was originally scheduled to arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 13:30.
SAS confirmed that a crack in the cockpit side window caused the diversion. The airline said the aircraft landed safely in Copenhagen in accordance with standard safety procedures and stressed that passenger and crew safety remained its top priority.
Passengers were provided with food and drink vouchers while awaiting rebooking arrangements.
