SAS and WestJet have signed an expanded codeshare agreement that significantly strengthens travel links between Scandinavia and Canada, widening access across both carriers’ networks and streamlining transatlantic journeys.

Under the new partnership, SAS customers can connect via Toronto Pearson or SAS’s U.S. gateways to more than ten Canadian destinations, including Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax—all on a single ticket with through-checked baggage. WestJet passengers, meanwhile, gain convenient access to SAS hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm, and onward connections throughout Europe.

SAS Chief Commercial Officer Paul Verhagen called the agreement “an important step in connecting Scandinavia even more closely with Canada,” adding that it reinforces Copenhagen as SAS’s primary intercontinental hub while offering travellers on both sides of the Atlantic a smoother experience.

The deal also builds on SAS’s strong operational performance. In 2025, the carrier was named the world’s most punctual airline twice and Europe’s most punctual airline four times, a reliability advantage that supports the new cooperation.

WestJet’s Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill said the deeper commercial ties will help meet rising Canadian demand for travel to Northern Europe. Both airlines plan to introduce a loyalty partnership offering reciprocal benefits to EuroBonus and WestJet Rewards members.

The collaboration will extend further in 2026, notably with codesharing on WestJet’s new Halifax–Copenhagen service launching in May, boosting connectivity between Atlantic Canada and the Nordic region and creating new transatlantic travel opportunities for both carriers’ customers.
