Passenger arrested at London Heathrow after attacking crew and trying to open plane door

Share

A Saudia Airlines passenger was arrested at London Heathrow Airport on Thursday, 28 August, after allegedly punching a flight attendant and attempting to open a Boeing 787 (registered HZ-AR27) door shortly after landing from Jeddah.

The disturbance occurred as Flight SV119 taxied to its stand, forcing the pilots to brake sharply and request emergency assistance. Police, firefighters, and ambulances surrounded the aircraft, with officials boarding via mobile stairs.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft, assault, disorderly behaviour, and aircraft damage. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Witnesses described the incident as chaotic and frightening for passengers, particularly families on board.
