SAS to unveil new livery on 19 September

On 10 September, SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) announced it would unveil its new livery on 19 September 2019, at Copenhagen, confirming an information of check-in.dk.

The Scandinavian airline is going to paint its new livery on its first Airbus A350-941, to be registered SE-RSA and named Ingegerd Viking, to be delivered in November, and on future A320neo deliveries. It will take until end 2024 to repaint every SAS aircraft.

Danish website check-in.dk says that the press conference will be held at the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark.

“It will be a historic moment, as our ‘livery’ has only changed a few times (four times to be exact) during our 73 years and not since 1998, which is 21 years ago,” SAS writes in an internal mail, reproduced by the Danish website.

It is not sure what the SAS new livery will be, but an SAS logo blue tail, together with blue winglets already appeared on first pictures out of the assembly hall of Airbus at Toulouse-Blagnac. The airline, via a teaser, showed that the orange colour will disappear, and a blue ribbon will appear. The SAS name should be more used instead of the Scandinavian Airlines name, dropped a few years ago.
