SalamAir will introduce the first direct air link between Austria and the Sultanate of Oman with the launch of non-stop flights between Vienna and Muscat from 24 June 2026. The Omani low-cost carrier will operate the route three times a week using Airbus A321neo aircraft, marking its debut in the Austrian market.

The new service significantly expands Vienna Airport’s destination portfolio and opens direct access to one of the Middle East’s fastest-emerging travel markets. Until now, Oman has not been served by any non-stop flights from Vienna.

Vienna Airport management highlighted the route as a strategic milestone, strengthening the airport’s international positioning while supporting tourism and economic ties between Central Europe and the Gulf region. For SalamAir, the Vienna route represents a further step in its European expansion and reinforces Muscat’s role as a regional gateway.

Muscat offers travellers a blend of cultural landmarks, including the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Mutrah Souk, alongside easy access to Oman’s diverse natural landscapes, from desert dunes and mountain ranges to unspoilt Indian Ocean beaches.
