S7 Airlines is set to reduce its autumn-winter flight schedule by 10-15% compared to the previous year due to difficulties in servicing its Airbus A320/A321neo aircraft. The airline is facing challenges with American Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engines on these planes, as repair services for these engines are not available in Russia or Iran.

Currently, only 20% of S7’s fleet is operational, with 13 out of 39 A320neo aircraft being in service. While there are reports of S7 considering parting with these aircraft, they have not yet requested to export them and are exploring options for maintenance.

S7 Airlines holds the largest fleet of A320neos, while other Russian carriers have these planes equipped with different engines and continue to operate them. The reduction in the flight schedule is attributed to planned aircraft maintenance, with many of the airline’s aircraft undergoing various forms of maintenance during the winter season.
