Ryanair will withdraw from the Serbian market during the 2026/27 winter season, ending all services to and from Niš Constantine the Great Airport after a decade of operations.
The Irish low-cost carrier told SeeNews that the decision was driven by “fuel regulatory issues affecting the airport”, without providing further details.
The airline currently operates year-round routes from Niš to Vienna and Malta, as well as seasonal services to Stockholm and Corfu. Ticket sales indicate that the Vienna and Malta routes will end in late October, while the seasonal routes conclude at the end of August and September respectively.
Ryanair entered the Serbian market in 2016 with the launch of flights between Niš and Berlin. The carrier had previously ruled out serving Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, citing high operating costs.
Following Ryanair’s departure, Air Serbia and Wizz Air will remain the only airlines serving Niš, Serbia’s second-busiest airport after Belgrade. The airport handled 393,102 passengers in 2025, a 10% increase compared with the previous year.
