Ryanair will launch a new base at Trapani-Marsala Airport in January 2026, investing $200 million in two aircraft and creating over 800 local jobs. The base will operate 23 routes, including 11 new destinations such as Brussels, London, Stockholm, and Verona, with traffic expected to exceed 1 million passengers annually.
The move follows the Sicilian government’s abolition of the municipal tax at smaller airports, a decision Ryanair credits with boosting regional connectivity. The airline is urging authorities to extend the tax cut to larger airports in Palermo and Catania, which it says would unlock millions of extra passengers, additional aircraft, and thousands of jobs.
To mark the opening, Ryanair has launched a three-day seat sale with fares from €21.99.
