Ryanair flight FR1121 from Birmingham to Tenerife South was forced to turn back over France after declaring an in-flight emergency, reportedly due to turbulence that caused passenger injuries.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 registered EI-HGO departed Birmingham Airport at around 14:50 local time and climbed to 35,000 feet before squawking 7700 over Brittany, indicating a general emergency. According to passenger accounts cited by The Aviation Herald, the aircraft encountered turbulence during the flight while cabin service was in progress with the carts in the aisle, resulting in injuries to several people on board.
The flight subsequently returned to Birmingham, with Ryanair yet to provide further details on the extent of the injuries.
