Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-fares airline, has officially launched its new Winter 2025/2026 route between Brussels Charleroi and Katowice, marking another milestone in the carrier’s growing Polish network. The route, which took off this week, will operate twice weekly and forms part of Ryanair’s expanded winter schedule at Katowice Airport, one of Poland’s fastest-growing regional hubs.
The Brussels–Katowice connection is one of three new routes in Ryanair’s 2025 winter programme from Katowice, alongside Budapest and Trapani, bringing the airport’s total network to 15 destinations. The schedule will be operated by three Katowice-based Boeing 737-800 aircraft, representing a USD 300 million investment that supports over 1,000 local jobs and strengthens the airport’s position within Ryanair’s European network.
“Ryanair continues to grow in Poland, investing in regional airports such as Katowice that are vital to improving connectivity, tourism, and local economies,” said Micha? Kaczmarzyk, CEO of Buzz (Ryanair Group). “Our new route to Brussels offers passengers even more choice this winter at the lowest fares in Europe.”
Artur Tomasik, CEO of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL S.A.), added: “Ryanair is significantly expanding its presence at Katowice Airport, introducing new destinations and increasing traffic. Thanks to the airline’s growth, we expect to handle more than 7 million passengers in 2025, a record in our airport’s history.”
The launch of the Brussels route coincides with Ryanair’s announcement of a new Katowice–Malaga service beginning 30 March 2026, further enhancing leisure travel options for southern Poland.
With this expanded network and new investment, Katowice Airport cements its role as one of Ryanair’s key operational bases in Central Europe — offering travellers more destinations, greater frequency, and affordable fares throughout the winter season and beyond.
