Ryanair signs five-year Google Cloud and AI partnership to support growth

Share

Ryanair has signed a five-year technology partnership with Google Cloud, under which the airline will deploy cloud, artificial intelligence and collaboration tools across its workforce as it prepares to grow to 300 million passengers annually by 2034.

The agreement will see Google Workspace and Google Cloud services rolled out to around 35,000 Ryanair employees. A central element will be Gemini Enterprise, Google’s agentic AI platform, which Ryanair plans to use to automate decision-making, improve flight crew logistics and increase productivity across the company.

The airline said the partnership will also form part of a new dual-cloud strategy, intended to strengthen the resilience of its IT infrastructure while supporting its rapid expansion.

Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said the airline needs technology infrastructure capable of matching its focus on efficiency and supporting its ambitious passenger growth targets. The deployment of AI is expected to help streamline operations and automate workflows across the business.

Google Cloud said the agreement demonstrates how generative AI can be deployed at scale in aviation to reduce operating costs, improve operational efficiency and support frontline employees.

The partnership represents another significant step in Ryanair’s digital transformation, with AI increasingly being integrated into operational planning rather than being limited to customer-facing applications.
