RYANAIR NOW ACCOUNTS FOR 25% OF TOTAL BRUSSELS TRAFFIC

Ryanair today (6 Jan), reported record 2015 growth of 17% at its Brussels airports (Charleroi and Zaventem), as strong performance on its winter and summer schedules to/from the Belgian capital continued.

Ryanair remains the dominant carrier at Brussels Charleroi, where it saw a 10% year on year increase in its passenger numbers to over 5.5m. It also witnessed a massive jump in customer levels at Brussels Zaventem, where it carried over 1.8m customers in 2015 at a 44% increase when compared with its 2014 performance.

Ryanair, which now accounts for 25% of all traffic at both Brussels airports, currently has full schedules on sale featuring new routes from Charleroi to exciting destinations like Athens, Bucharest and Prague, while also adding new Zaventem routes to both Dublin and Verona, giving Belgian consumers a choice of over 90 routes to/from the Belgian capital. Ryanair celebrated its record Brussels 2015 growth by releasing 100,000 seats for sale across its European network, at prices from €9.99. These low fare seats are available for booking only until midnight Thursday (7 Jan).

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said:

“We are delighted with our continued growth in Brussels, where Ryanair recorded 17% growth at both airports in the Belgian capital in 2015. The fact that Ryanair now accounts for 25% of total Brussels traffic, where we carried close to 7.5m customers in 2015, is testament to the success of our “Always Getting Better” programme and our continued focus on offering Europe’s lowest fares for both business and leisure customers.

Ryanair will continue to grow traffic and jobs in Belgium, as well as to connect Brussels with Europe’s key capitals, with more flights and improved schedules to major cities including Berlin, Dublin, Madrid and Rome, making Ryanair the ideal choice for Belgian consumers and visitors.

To celebrate our Brussels growth in 2015, we are releasing 100,000 seats on sale from €9.99, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday (7 Jan). Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”
