Dublin Airport welcomes Ryanair’s announcement today that it will add seven new services to its winter schedule later this year.
The airline will launch flights to the capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia and the German city of Hamburg and confirmed that summer services to Athens, Bologna, Murcia, Porto and Seville will also continue into the winter season.
“Ryanair is an important customer and we are delighted to see further expansion on its route network from Dublin Airport for next winter,” said Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison.
“We are particularly pleased that new destination Sofia will be added to the growing number of destinations from Dublin Airport and that a number of summer services will be extended to the winter schedule providing customers with more choice and flexibility,” he added.
Ryanair has also indicated that it will add extra capacity to Bucharest, five times weekly and Gatwick, eight times daily next winter.
Today’s announcement brings to 13 the overall number of new routes/services that will operate from Dublin Airport this year as well as two new charter destinations during the summer peak.
Dublin Airport currently has direct flights to over 170 destinations in 38 countries on four continents.

Ryanair today (27 Jan) launched its Dublin winter 2016 schedule, with 2 new routes to Hamburg and Sofia, 5 new winter services to Athens, Bologna, Murcia, Porto and Seville and more flights to Bucharest and London Gatwick, which will deliver 12.3m customers p.a. (+1.2m) and support 9,200* jobs, as Ryanair grows by 10% at Dublin Airport.

Ryanair will continue to connect Dublin with Europe’s major centres of business through high frequency services, including Amsterdam (4 daily), Brussels (3 daily), London (19 daily), Madrid (3 daily), Milan (2 daily) and Rome (2 daily), with more flights, better timings and the lowest fares, making Ryanair the ideal choice for business and leisure customers.
Irish consumers and visitors can choose from 68 Dublin routes in winter 2016 and can look forward to further improvements, as Ryanair continues its “Always Getting Better” programme, which includes more new routes, a new app, new cabin interiors, new crew uniforms and improved inflight menus.
