Ryanair welcomed a ruling by the District Court in Warsaw-Modlin convicting a disruptive passenger whose behaviour forced flight FR2746 from London Stansted to Kaunas to divert to Warsaw-Modlin on 24 July 2024.
According to the airline, the passenger became abusive and failed to follow crew instructions, leading to the diversion of the flight carrying more than 180 passengers and six crew members. The court imposed a penalty of PLN 17,000 on the passenger.
Ryanair said the incident required intervention from police and border guard services and reiterated its “zero tolerance” policy toward unruly behaviour onboard aircraft. The airline said the ruling sends a clear message that disruptive conduct will be prosecuted and financially penalised.
