Starting now, Ryanair connects Berlin Schönefeld Airport with Billund in Denmark. Flights are scheduled by the Irish low-cost carrier twice a week, on a Boeing 737-800. As such, Ryanair provides connections from Berlin to 47 destinations throughout Europe – including Seville, Brussels, Bratislava, Pisa and Belfast.
Billund can be found in the middle of Jutland, located on the Cimbrian Peninsula in the western area of the country. The small town is especially well known for being the building block headquarters of the toymakers LEGO, with adjoining amusement park, Legoland. The next largest city in size is the ancient maritime trading city of Vejle on Jutland’s east coast. Clearly visible from the surrounds, being perched on a hilltop, an old windmill, dating back to the 19th century is certainly a landmark that is Vejle’s claim to fame. The landscape of Jutland, with its marshland and hilly countryside in the middle of the region, is reminiscent of Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein and is particularly suitable for outdoorsy types. Not only all this, Jutland also entices with many sites that bear witness to both prehistory and ancient history.
Billund Airport is located two kilometres to the northeast of Billund town and, after Copenhagen, is the second largest airport in the country. The town centre can be reached with a bus within only ten minutes from the airport.
