A Ryanair pilot reportedly fainted during flight FR4587 from Barcelona to Porto on Sunday, August 10. According to Portugal’s National Institute of Medical Emergencies, the pilot experienced a “rapidly recovering syncope” at 08:19 but appeared to recover before landing.
Emergency crews met the aircraft— a Boeing 737-800 registered 9H-QEH —upon arrival at Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport at 08:35 as scheduled. The pilot received on-site medical attention but declined hospital treatment.
Ryanair stated that it has procedures and training to manage situations where a pilot becomes unwell, confirming the flight landed safely without disruption.
