Vereinigung Cockpit, the German pilots union, cancelled yesterday’s negotiation talks and called upon to strike because Ryanair did not want to discuss with two of the five union delegates. New negotiations have been planned in early January.
The German strike is the first one since the Irish low-cost airline was founded back in 1985.
Update: 11:15 (UTC+1) Ryanair tweeted that 9 out 36 flights were delayed but no cancellations. The airline expects to operate all of their German scheduled flights today.
